NEW RESEARCH: UK heat pumps can perform far better than many think.

Our analysis of HeatPumpMonitor.org data shows well-designed systems achieve ~40% higher efficiency than past trials (SCoP 3.86 vs 2.81), cutting bills (~£224/yr) and emissions.

Zack Polanski nails the reality: the gap between a millionaire and a billionaire isn’t “a bit more money” - it’s a completely different universe.

This is why taxing extreme wealth matters. 👏

Today we’ll get latest net immigration figures - They’ll show immigration for work is plummeting.

Why is this not part of the discussion on Rachel Reeves balancing her books & stalled growth?

For every 100,000 drop in net immigration, the OBR adds £7bn to the deficit. #r4today

This is particularly good news for people living in flats. Air to air heat pumps are particularly good for small properties, or if damp and mould is an issue. They can provide cooling too, which will help with overheating in flats.

A memorable night ruined by a racist thug.

I was invited to speak at the EuroAsia Curry Awards on Monday night, it should have been an exciting opportunity. But on my way there, outside Earl’s Court station, I was subjected to an Islamophobic hate crime. I have now reported it to the police

This is the first time in the party's history that they have hit double-digits in polls, and comes as the party stands within touching distance of 100,000 members.

No sudden rupture is now required for the far right to take power in this country. For what we're seeing is a steady normalisation of extremists by the Conservative and Labour Parties, BBC, Telegraph, Mail and others. A shift once considered unthinkable beings to look acceptable, even inevitable.🧵

I'm very concerned about all the #GlobalSumudFlotilla detainees, but especially Hannah Schafer, who seems likely to be held in extended detention in Israel. Israeli armed forces have committed grave and multiple breaches of international law in attacking the flotilla and mistreating its crew.

How that would warrant arrest is very unclear. I wonder if the police here even understand the boundaries of the bizarre law they’ve been forced to enforce.

My Trade Secrets today. Govts often do an immigration sleight-of-hand, demonising a tiny minority esp asylum-seekers as cover to admit workers.

Giorgia Meloni can still pull this trick off and is issuing 500k non-EU work permits. Keir Starmer is so scared & UK public trust so damaged he can't.

Are we really going to drown in six inches of water?
The central far right claim - that our problems are caused not by those with power and wealth but by utterly powerless people (asylum seekers etc) - is obviously and pathetically wrong. Yet millions, once more, are floundering in that puddle.
