Sometimes I visit the Cape Fur seals colony here in Namibia in Cape Cross. It boggles my mind how the animals live there on and around their dead companions and family members. The stench of decay is incomprehensible. The seagulls peck at the carcasses of the dead pubs. Absolutely wild.

David Lynch - A huge and sad loss. A remarkably unique and very talented filmmaker. It was such a truly great pleasure to work with him. If his name was in the credits, you knew the film was really worth seeing. I will miss him.

took a film class in high school.. the instructor showed us this scene with no explanation to start a discussion about meaning and symbolism in film. after class, i asked who the filmmaker was-- started renting his movies immediately
