"Saudi Arabia will invest billions in the United States" is not the economic plus Trump wants you to think it is. SA is buying up U.S. farmland to feed their own people. They are draining our water supplies. And if he thinks he can sell them our national parks, NO FUCKING WAY.

How can so many otherwise decent people believe Trump’s lies?

New findings from published in the journal Cognitive Research show that the more often a statement — true or not — is repeated, the more emphatically it’s believed.

#PutinMuskAdministration will attempt to incite discord in Greenland and Canada. Russia will help with those efforts. I suspect they will have some success in Canada.

As far as Russia is concerned, at minimum, this will destabilize the Western alliance. A maximum objective would be new strategic shipping and trade assets.

At one point in the future (see how optimistic I am?), History students will wonder not only why we let a tiny bunch of wealthy supreme-me-cists wreck our planet, but also why we felt the need to actually fund the wreckage at the expense of the essential services we did need
Oil and gas companies use a loophole in California tax law they lobbied for the 80s, which cost the state $146M in lost revenues last year. That money could go into wildfire resilience and mitigation, given climate change induced increase in fire season length.
