France has never been the free cultural space he claims. It has tracked anti-colonial thinkers, banned Arab rappers, expelled foreign artists and detained activists over slogans. Political expression is always filtered through state interests and fear of harming diplomatic ties.
2 years of live streamed genocide and the French minister publicly states he's grateful Israel wasn't banned from Eurovision. The Germans of course made a similar statement. Your elected representatives REPRESENT you. If you don't remember this during elections, you are also pro genocide.

There is a "fix" for that, but it's the long struggle of building an actually democratic society in which learning is valued more than knowledge and knowledge is more valued than certification. Any number of experimental colleges & programs work toward this.
The invention of a perfect cheating machine just exposes a more fundamental problem, which is that most students go to college to get a degree, and any actual learning is incidental to that. There’s no real fix for that other than a devaluation of degrees in the job market, which is coming.
