Having established myself, I think, as a “college writing instructor who’s panicking about how the kids can’t read or write or study”…not only was a 0 was not warranted here, but I wonder what manner of writing this instructor is letting slide. You can’t blow your 0 wad on this kind of thing
Turning Point at OU posted this girl's essay in full and man is it rough

Reading a reply that’s like “I haven’t seen this in my classes…I have a generous late work policy and students who fall off track end up correcting.” And that’s exactly it. If you offer the concierge grading service they expect, more of them pass. Scaffold and set firm deadlines— RIP your pass rate
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

Found out my son’s new soccer coach also hates the coach I hate, and he said Oh but you’ve gotta talk to my wife, *she* REALLY hates him. Sir I’ve not met your wife and I’m sure she’s very devoted but I will go toe to toe with her re: hating some guy

Going through old photos…in the 90s you were pretty much always hanging out under a picture of some gal’s enormous jugs while someone took a Polaroid of you doing that

I’ve pieced together that this argument over whether a family of 4 making $136k in San Diego is working class pivots on whether you define working class as “has to work for a living rather than living on, or falling back on, passive income.” So you don’t have to
Incredible scenes on here today
Two adults making a combined $136k before taxes is not working class, apparently

Astounding. Just incredible how some people think
