Labour’s latest attack on asylum seekers is cruel & counterproductive. How does it help community cohesion to hold threat of deportation over vulnerable people? We don’t need an arms race with the hard right over asylum, we need safe routes & European cooperation #bbclaurak

This is what many of us have been saying. Part 3 of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill is based on a myth: that we don't have enough homes because wildlife and green spaces are protected. It will solve nothing, and inflict terrible harm on our remaining ecosystems

Trigger warning.

“In crashes, SUVs are more likely to strike vital organs in the core of adults’ bodies & heads of children. Hitting pedestrians above their center of gravity means they’re more likely to be knocked forward & down and then be driven over.”

Plus more likely to hit in the 1st place.

With all the recent intense rainfall, many parts of the woods are gloriously full of water.

The forests, bogs, + other wild habitats we've removed once retained colossal amounts of water, preventing flooding downstream.

Between that and climate breakdown, we're creating a perfect storm for floods.

Since the first COP, atmospheric CO2 has continued to increase.

Global levels reached a new record of 422.8 ppm in 2024.

The rate of CO2 growth has accelerated from 0.8 ppm/year in 1960s to 2.4 ppm/year btw 2011-2020, & a record increase of 3.5 ppm between 2023-2024.

Temps are now accelerating.🙄
