I had surgery last Wednesday, and I’m still in a lot of pain. The doctor has me on 7 different prescription medications. Before I knew I was going to need surgery — my 4th procedure for this damn issue since February 2024 — I signed up for 3 days of professional development for this week. 🙃

We got the results today for my own kids’ state testing; they both did well, which leaves me torn because… do we celebrate effort and success and growth? But also, as a teacher, I know these tests are not actually a good measure of learning, and I don’t want them to tie their worth to test scores.

My chaotic gremlin brain is so soothed by this new makeup organizer in my bathroom. I have too much makeup - including a lot of free samples from various brands - and the chaos was beginning to overflow.

Summer break is for finally doing all of the health/doctor stuff I should’ve been doing all year. I just scheduled my annual physical, & asked if I could schedule G’s at the same time (same practice) & they said he’d actually be considered a new patient because he hasn’t been there SINCE 2017!!! 😱

I have my first mammogram ever today at 2:30pm (so that my OBGyn won’t yell at me when I go in for my annual this summer since I was supposed to do this last year when I turned 40). Any tips or tricks? Apparently I’m not supposed to wear deodorant.

In re: this shitty article, we do in fact gatekeep American citizenship, and the gatekeeping in question is laid out in federal statutes, none of which allow us to disappear a green card holder without due process for peacefully protesting, no matter what they are protesting for.
A permanent resident got disappeared without a warrant or due process for expressing unpopular opinions? The libertarians must be outraged!

Today I had my third and hopefully final surgery to fix a problem that started a little over a year ago. According to my butt doctor, it went even better than expected - there were three possible ways to address it, and we were expecting 2nd best option, but she was able to do 1st best option. 🎉

I lost The Toast, I lost Twitter, we are losing (?) TikTok, and I think I just need to get a lot better at being more emotionally invested in building my IRL community. It’s been hard since having kids, and I’m so tired, but 🤷🏻♀️

We haven’t had a lot of snow yet, but it’s starting to come down here in North Texas. My district canceled school for today and tomorrow, and the kids’ district gave them a snow day today with a “wait and see” for tomorrow. I hope we get enough on the ground to use this sled I bought 2 years ago.

Our dishwasher was originally installed in 2003, and we bought this house in 2012. Yesterday it wouldn’t drain, and we took it apart, cleaning 12 (maybe 21?) years worth of disgusting gunk out of each layer of machinery. It still wouldn’t drain. Now we have to buy a new one.
