Here for pop music and video, weird fiction, film and TV, plus cats, cake and a bit of coding if rainy. Fond of medieval bestiaries and stained glass windows.
Well there goes my New Year's resolution and f*ck me for thinking I could be happy

Well I've had two days off after delivering the last of the big Xmas jobs, and by ten yesterday morning I was so bored I was doing the invoicing several days early.

Now it's a REAL day off, and by god someone had better send me something to do

Recycling tip: take your 2025 calendar, wet your thumb and enjoy hours of harmless fun flicking through it fast enough to recreate your own version of that special montage in Event Horizon, the one they had to get Vadim Jean to help out with

The abandoned toilet block at Beauficel, of a kind quite familiar from my teenage years in the south. Follow the sign to the Panorama. It will lead you here. All signs will lead you here, in time.

Why do birds,
suddenly appear,
every time,
you are near?
Just like me,
you seem to be,
made of seeds.

Walk today was a shambles. My special Nowhere Throne was RUINED by a cushion of snow and I ended up having to shelter in the world's most feral shed

I love this photo. I love that superior donkey. If my French were good enough, I'd ask to chat with it as an adjunct to therapy.
Donkey from yesterday.

This field is now snowy white and very likely the donkey has sprouted antlers and started jingling slightly, but the expression of quiet scorn with which it regards passers-by no doubt remains unchanged

Blooming heck, it's proper snowed here overnight. Sisters of Mercy tuning up in my head as always, though these days I'm inclined to think of Andrew Eldritch as a bit of a whiner. "Waiting for the train?" Oh, you get PUBLIC TRANSPORT where you live?

I am reminded of this man's writing every single time I'm unable to tell whether a fluttering dark mass in my vicinity is a bird or a leaf, which accounts for about 30% of my waking hours

The moon's even huger tonight. On my way home at dusk I turned to look back over the hills and it was sloping up over the top of a tree-lined ridge like Spiny Norman. Down in the shadows of the valley, the waters were murmuring "Dinsdale".

And an owl called me a tool. I swear I could hear the "t".

The topless floozy postcard I recently ordered arrived with a shockingly indulgent amount of packaging material, but on attempting to report @wordkunst.bsky.social to the Green Police I was told these items are in fact Books of great literary and artistic merit, to be treasured by cultured folk!

Been up looking at the outsized moon at the Chapelle de Montfort, but on the way I had to stop to peer in at my favourite evening window at Brouains church. I love how the trees and graves look through all the different panes.
