Worth noting that the reason healthcare is so damned expensive in the US is The HMO Act of 1973 that was signed by Nixon and made HMO for profit instead of nonprofit. The last Republican healthcare plan literally gave us the mess we're still in today. ACA barely reigned in some of the worst parts.

I’m seeing things now that indicate some overlap in some places where it might not have been a full 15 year time difference but maybe closer to 12-13 years, but…STILL…!

I also mathed out that Olbermann would’ve been about 51 at that point and Triple Yikes.

No way! Primary the Bush Democrats. Take this moment and move forward, not stand there looking stupid like Chuck Schumer.

Good ideas. Good candidates. Positive choices.

And don’t let CNN or MSNBC convince you to settle even one more time. The future is NOW. No more deferring. It’s here NOW.

We’ll just have the same crap situation we had under Trump 1 when we could impeach but not convict and Biden where we could investigate but not prosecute. Only this time even weaker.

Could he win? Yeah, but in four years we’ll be right back where we started. Unless we find our BEST people and support them. I know AOC would be the actual better candidate. But if we let centrists and GOP lite Democrats off the hook we will LOSE. We may win the midterms and 2028 but…

They will come for the smartest most qualified woman harder than they ever have for Trump and let Vance or whoever slide. You know it’s true. But I’d vote for her in a heartbeat. Newsom is at best a compromise.
Samey same.

The nation is angry at Trump but don’t take that to mean you can run some boring ass big tent conciliatory white man. Whose ideas are just Bush in 1979. AOC fires people up. I happen to agree with Michelle Obama the US won’t elect a woman. The media will kneecap any woman. Hard.

He asked for the nomination as a reward for service, not because he was the man for the job. It was a party plum and it ruined us. Don’t let them do that again. No more triage and half asses running and you have to hold your nose to vote for them.

So it’s obvious the one thing the right and the left can agree upon is we don’t want milksops and stands-for-nothings. And it should be obvious this is a pivotal moment where we can tack this nation back to the better shores. But we need good candidates. Not compromises. Biden was compromise.

Because apparently people will gladly vote for horror. One thing about 2024 is the nation rejected milquetoast centrism, which is actually 1979 Bush Republican conservatism. This month we as a nation did it again and elected progressives.

Aren’t you sick of voting against someone rather than for someone? They’re awful human beings but GOP voters vote for their candidates. They love horror and death, can’t be helped. Are we better? Yes. We need to vote for hope and change, not simply against horror.

We shouldn’t have to settle when democracy and the future are all on the line. Or even in good times. These are our lives. We are human beings. We have the right to full value.
