Found a trove of pictures, so here's a thread. The ATSF line over Raton Pass is one of the toughest stretches of mainline in the US. Thanks to Otto Perry a bunch of the ridiculous combinations used to lift trains over the pass were captured. First, 2x 2-10-2s help a 4-8-4 pull the Chief 12/29/40.
