Alt-text is for screen readers and for descriptions of the image. It's not for image credit and certainly not for links. Credit should be included in the text that goes in the post.

If you're going to make a post praising an incredible news photo, it's a real bad look when you don't include the photographer credit in the post.

The White House briefing room. Four Hs. Three of them are upside down. And it’s been that way since 2007.

Just a 1399 unicorn watermark from a paper manufacturer from Valencia to make your day. Friends of #paperhistory know that these paper sheets of around 1400 are among the first sheets of European paper to appear on the market. European #bookhistory was a different game afterwards. #skystorians

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

This curious folly in Barking looks ancient, but is less than 20 years old. It's just one of the many fragments of 'fake history' in London, which we've tracked down in this article -> londonist.substack.com/p/fake-history

LINK ROT: 38% webpages that existed in 2013 were no longer available 10 years later.

Even among pages that existed in 2021, 22% no longer accessible just two years later. This is often because individual page was deleted or removed on otherwise functional website.

Many implications for knowledge 🧪

Attention #AcademicSky Everyone is talking about books, but thousands of academic journals were also pirated and are entitled to up to $3,000 *per pirated volume!!!* if editors submit titles to join the suit. Incredible opportunity for underfunded journals to get some $$! #SkyStorians #MedievalSky
