Honestly, it’s the perfect role for a VP. They’re usually the more partisan one and they usually need something to do.

Imagine the joy of Tim Walz in a hard hat, behind the wheel of a wrecking ball
There's a series of things (like the ballroom, Gulf of America) that we're going to have to *undo* the moment this guy is out of office.
And yet I can already hear future Democrat presidents saying "I'm focused on the people's work, not the knucklehead stuff" and just leave this man's shit up.
The president's name was added to the sign outside the performing arts center.

Capitulating to Trump on gender affirming care is not risk free. It violates state and federal law to deny access to this care and providers should be on notice they are legally liable if they unlawfully deny care.

The blockade of Venezuela is a disgusting echo of U.S. imperialism in Latin America. We were lied to about Iraq and WMDs, and an entire generation paid the price.

Here we are again.

We cannot let a wannabe dictator drag us into another forever war.

The escalation exerts unprecedented pressure on the Maduro regime, threatening to bankrupt Venezuela's already struggling economy.

According to this Supreme Court:

❌ Using race conscious admissions in college to give minorities a fair shot

✅ Using race to profile people on the street to detain for immigration sweeps

✅ Using race to disenfranchise minorities in elecciones

The only consistency is white supremacy.

You can measure my mental health by how often I do the dishes (no dishwasher):
-2-3x/day = Excellent
-1x/day = Standard
-Every other day = Struggling
-Every 3-4 days = I probably need help
-5+ days = time to ask for therapy

I've done them twice today and it's not even 10am.

When I learned EMTs made $13/hr (this was a long time ago, but I was making $10/hr as a union grocery bagger), it burst my bubble that if I worked a harder, high skill job, I could expect significantly better pay.

CHP now has billboards advertising $120k/yr starting pay for new officers.
Please apply for this key job on Chicago’s CARE team providing non-police emergency crisis response.

Also, these jobs are paid a fraction of CPD posts that require less education, less skill, and less risk. That’s a reflection of the fact that we live in bullshit police state.

The idea that incarceration is a problem unique to big cities is a myth.

Take a look at New York: People in state prisons come from every corner of the state, but upstate counties send the most people to prison per capita.

I'm vehemently against Respectability Politics because the people who hate us will continue to do so regardless of our Respectability. If the person is a fence sitter who can be convinced to ignore your personhood because of how you dress or whatever, I don't have time for them either.

America clearly needs and wants immigrant labor.

There will therefore be immigrants coming here legally or not.

It's much better to admit reality (we need immigrant labor) and to have laws that make sense (allowing in the labor we need) rather than being racist idiots.

"the article’s author and editors did not intentionally quote Hitler and did not recognize the resemblance to the speech"

If the ideology behind the article is identical to Nazism, it doesn't matter if they quoted it or came to the same conclusion independently. They're still Nazis.
It is hard to explain to non-Harvard folks how WILD this is but maybe if I say “this is where Ross Douthat cut his teeth” it starts to make sense?

The fact that they think they have a culture problem means that even they are panicked about how Nazi they are which means very Nazi 🙃

folks can complain about the effectiveness of scheduled orderly mass protest but to think about it another way its the closest thing we have to the opening scene of A Muppet Christmas Carol where all the muppets sing "there goes Mr. Dipshit, there goes Mr. Ass" to Scrooge and it clearly bothered him
