There’s an app as well as a website that makes it easy to call your reps in Washington and share your voice. If you don’t know what to say there is a short script. Takes less time than it does to order a coffee at Dunkin.
5 Calls
Spend 5 minutes. Make 5 calls. Make your voice heard.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

My quilt about women’s reproductive rights has been banned from all American Quilters Society shows this year. It’s been part of a traveling show with SAQA. My artist statement is too long for here. It’s on my website: laurashaw.net/quilts#/your-mother

Jim Acosta's closing message is a must-watch.
Jim Acosta announces on air that he's leaving CNN and says, "it is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant ... don't give in to the lies."

We are about to enter an era of extreme and dangerous culture war in the United States. How do we protect our communities and work toward a cultural ceasefire? In this piece I wrote a couple months ago, I offer one possible path. wapo.st/40q1BDn
Opinion | Libraries can help end the culture wars. That’s why they’re under fire.
Nothing threatens authoritarianism like a free, quiet place to absorb a full range of information.

Oligarchy (noun): A government of and by a few at the top, who exercise power for their own benefit. Their power and wealth increase as they make laws that favor themselves, manipulate financial markets, and create monopolies that put more wealth into their pockets.

💯 yes. Libraries are amazing places. So many resources available. If the library doesn’t have it ask. You might not be the only person interested. It’s how libraries grow. 📚
One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

💙📚thanks to #netgalley I had the opportunity to listen to Head Cases by John McMahon. Great cast of characters and FBI procedural mystery. I hope there will be more, the ending seem to set up for a series. Enjoyed the narration too.

Definitely looks like the crowd for the protest will be BIGGER than his inauguration crowd!
