DEI is like the response the civil rights movement with things like welfare that aim to shut people up without causing any change to the power structure. That’s what Democrats have always been about. The answer isn’t more representation in the system, it’s a new system that doesn’t need DEI 2/2

I keep seeing fingers pointing sideways (or down) trying to find who’s to blame for the shitshow going on right now. The blame always goes up. We need class solidarity and unity, not moral superiority and pettiness. What’s done is done. Moving forward together is the only option now.

I have no idea how they would even have this data. They might have data that says the majority of people fighting in the Civil War were poor, but that's the case for basically any modern war. They couldn't possibly know their motivations. 1/?

Remember that the ruling class is doing all it can to keep the rest of us divided. The responsibility to prevent that is on everyone. Trumpies are victims just like the rest of us. It’s important to meet people where they are and point out the exploitation to try to get them on your side.

Welfare was the same in the 60s. The Johnson administration wasn’t interested in racial equality, they were interested in maintaining power and staving off radical political change.

I think this sentiment kinda misses the point. There are human beings that ARE illegal and that’s the problem: the laws. No human being SHOULD be illegal, but when the state uses the legal system to impose its will, then that’s what ends up happening.

It’s important to realize that if you’re not trans, particularly if you’re a cishet man like I am, you are going to have to fight for your trans loved ones. We’re gonna have to do more than react. Voting and sharing isn’t gonna cut it. People you love are in danger and that should piss you off.
