Every time a story like this drops, my reflex is to downplay the moral rot of Trump because he just feels like a useful idiot surrounded by the biggest sociopaths to direct his craven lemmings to dance in the way he wants (or so he thinks.)

Every time a story like this drops, my reflex is to downplay the moral rot of Trump because he just feels like a useful idiot surrounded by the biggest sociopaths to direct his craven lemmings to dance in the way he wants (or so he thinks.)
The degree to which rape culture gets downplayed while simultaneously being so pervasive is exactly the reason why women have been so scared to come forward and MeToo was such a big step in the right direction, but every event like this feels like 2 steps back from that progress that was made.
Re: Diddy being acquitted on sex trafficking charges, one of the reasons the MeToo backlash has been so effective is because the court system enables a commentary class to say the absence of a guilty verdict means that women and victims are liars. In reality it’s incredibly hard and rare to convict
