Russia's ambassador to the UK, Yakovenko, boasted about Brexit to another diplomat:
“We have crushed the British to the ground. They are on their knees and will not rise for a very long time”
Today, Farage’s close ally, leader of Reform in Wales, was sentenced to 10yrs for taking bribes from Russia.

Rachel Johnson defending her brother on @lbc.co.uk currently just blamed the "statest establishment" for the failures.

"He's getting all the blame and none of the credit" and "he did his best."

Really Rachel? Well his best was appalling. This wasn't a gold club tombola. It was a pandemic.

Transparency International on Nathan Gill's bribery sentencing:

It raises a "broader concern about the currently legal practice of politicians accepting outside funding...and the inherent conflict this creates between their duty to serve the public, and the private interests of their funders." 💯

The #NathanGill bribery case is one of the clearest documented instances where money, messaging and political access intersect in a way that can be traced from a European politician back to figures in Medvedchuk’s and Medvedev’s circles - and thus to Putin

Nathan Gill; A traitor who was at the very top of Reform UK, aiding and abetting Russian adversaries, has been sentenced today.

Reform UK should be ashamed. Britain deserves better.

And we can do it on an absolute shoestring too. That’s the revolutionary beauty of it.

I hear Gove is a clever man, that he was a ‘competent’ minister (in a sea of incompetence) but I share Sarah’s view - he is dishonest 😡
I mean why TF is Gove a Lord now? He spent Covid plotting with Cummings and grifting his sorry arse off, having already lied himself inside out over Brexit - another reason our country is in such a mess.
He gets a peerage.
We get to pay for it all.

So, #r4today reports on the Covid inquiry and the “too little, too late” Tory govt, then says they’ll be talking to *Lord* Gove about it. Ugh.
That just sums up so much that’s so very wrong with our politics and media.

It never stops.
The grubby donations. The profiteering. The lobbying. The lies.

They make damn sure they get what they want.

I suspect that radical honesty - with clear, consistent communication - about the consequences of not broadening the tax base would not be liked but would be accepted.

The moment for that was July 2024 - preferably having not put impossible red lines in the manifesto.

Now is the next best time.
