10 years ago March averaged about 401.7 ppm

While we frame the climate crisis as technological rather than political, we will persist on the search of magical solutions that distract us from the single most important and urgent need - to reduce emissions.
This is absolute madness. Carbon capture and storage has failed time and again. Labour has slashed reliable green programmes, to pour vast sums of our money into a complete crock. The only possible explanation is lobbying by fossil fuel companies.🧵 www.theguardian.com/environment/...

If you decide to bomb everybody out of the territory you occupy and nobody with power oppose it. You do it, and simultaneously blow up the humanitarian and human rights law. But please, just don’t call this “defence”.

But as long as we effectively subsidize fossil fuels by allowing them to use the atmosphere as a waste dump we are not allowing clean energy to compete on a level playing field.

We need policy changes, not just tech breakthroughs, to meet our climate goals.

Much of Brazil's "green credentials" come from the existence of our fragile and vulnerable biomes. Climate catastrophe is not an opportunity. If the protection of people and our biomes do not come to center stage, we run the risk of being left with nothing more than disaster capitalism.
