Gutting Alzheimer's research.

First reported more than a week ago -- and as yet, this has not been undone. Republicans appear to have not said a word about it.

This comes up sometimes

Do fully vaccinated healthcare workers need a mask with measles patients?

YES. Health workers should wear a fit tested N95 respirator with suspected or known measles patients (or for 2 hours after the patient left a room)

one thing i’m stuck on is this idea that “masculine” energy means license to act like a chud in public, as opposed to more traditional notions of public masculinity, such as those that put a premium on the performance of integrity, honesty, honor and generosity.

Thoughtful thread. There really are some head scratcher ‘norms’ out there wrt IVF’s
Suggested New Year's Resolution: more mindful prescribing of IV fluids 🫧

Far too often I see IV fluids thrown around with minimal consideration; meanwhile, we'll deliberate for hours about a dose of lasix 🤦‍♀️

Here are the 10 most common fluid prescription mistakes I see 🧵

the echo/ECG pendulum has swung in a weird way

I’m seeing patients with multiple echo/POCUS exams & zero ECGs

any ICU patient with a heart should get an admit ECG

will be trying to emphasize ECGs a bit to balance this out

(IMHO the apex skill is bedside integration of POCUS + ECG + CXR) #EMIMCC

To everyone's surprise, it turns out that attaching a money-sucking machine to a hospital system makes it worse.

Watched The Last Word - Lawrence O’Donnell got a fascinating and smart as hell final Presidential interview of Joe Biden. My expectations were limited but it was like sitting around the dinner table asking all the stuff you’d actually want to talk about. Joe Biden has so much depth. O’Donnell too.

Takeaway: the US has amongst the largest gaps, despite relatively low lifespan.

And women in the US have even bigger gaps. 🛟🩺🧪😷

We possess the technology to create products that nearly never break. We were doing it in the 70's & 80's.

Then came 'planned obsolescence' - intentionally designing products to become obsolete or break quickly within a set time frame.

This is that- but in reverse.
