"If the U.S. military operation is not an armed conflict of any kind, these orders to kill helpless civilians clinging to the wreckage of a vessel our military destroyed would subject everyone from SECDEF down to the individual who pulled the trigger to prosecution under U.S. law for murder."
Here are US military lawyers stating clearly that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's "kill everybody" orders are either (1) war crimes or (2) murder.

Either way, expect prosecutions in the future.

Rather than simply boycotting e-commerce giants, Free DC is organizing a "procott" in time for holiday shopping.

Their local shopping guide features 50+ spots on board to support D.C.'s autonomy, including @solidstatebooksdc.bsky.social, @metrobardc.bsky.social, @loyaltybooks.bsky.social, and more:
This holiday season, Free DC wants you to "procott" these local businesses
While boycotts operate on withholding money, procotts are about spending it.

I appreciate this response from a journalism professor, who says that uncritically parroting govt BS in headlines comes from corporate, not them, and is in part calculated to generate engagement by making people angry.
Journalism prof here.
No, this is not taught by us (or at least the mjoroty of us). It is taught by corporate overlords who decide that an accurate headline does not create enough "reader engagement." By creating disingenuous headlines - very often calibrated to be rage bait for your base - 1/

Demolishing the East Wing of the White House before finalizing plans for what will be built above its ruins is a near-perfect metaphor for Trump's approach to economic policy. The only difference is the wrecking crew doesn’t claim the rubble is evidence of unprecedented growth.

About 40% of SNAP recipients are children. Around half of ALL children in the country are covered by Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

And the so-called “party of family values” gutted both programs by billions of dollars.

Doesn’t sound very pro-family to me.

There was nothing new in Katie Roger’ report, although her treatment of Trump’s decline was factual, she tended to sane-washed his behavior. She should update her article by including every single one of his words in that Truth Social post, as well as a link to it.

Now, that would be impressive.

Biden was old, tired, sick, stuttered, & clearly wasn't what he once was, even ten years ago.

But everyone, especially Tapper, Thompson, Nuzzi, & the rest of the elites, who made it something else & pretended he was just like Trump should be deeply ashamed. But we don't seem to do shame anymore.
Look I don't want to say you're a rube if you fell for the "Biden's incompetent" trope but it was clearly a con coming almost exclusively from bad faith actors and had almost zero solid evidentiary basis.
