Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.

We flounced out of the EU on the say-so of politicians who lied to us. And what a total shitshow that’s turned out to be. The polar opposite of what they promised. Now the call to flounce out of the ECHR. By the same people. Telling the same lies. Has the country been kicked in the head by a horse?

Here I am in 2020 in the flimsiest, most pitful PPE - like so many other NHS staff, some of whom died from the Covid they caught in their hospitals.

Tory peer Michelle Mone - who today lost her legal case & must repay the govt £122m - dares to claim she’s been ‘scapegoated’.

What, Michelle? 🧵

It's no surprise that Nigel Farage hardly ever bothers to visit Clacton or turn up at Parliament. When he was an MEP, his attendance record was 748th out of 751. He's a workshy grifting gobshite.

I am sickened by the relentless demonisation of refugees.

No refugee underfunded a school.

No refugee closed a hospital.

No refugee took away support from the sick and disabled.

We need solutions not scapegoats. Stop blaming refugees and tax the rich instead!

FIFA should pull all of the 2026 World Cup matches scheduled to be played on US soil & reassign them to venues in Canada.

That includes the World Cup final scheduled to be played at the Meadowlands.

This is not a country suited to host an international event now & won’t be until 2029.

The way that I was raised, being Jewish meant believing that every human life was sacred; to save a single human life meant saving all of humanity. That no law or ritual was more important than saving a single human life.

It's unfathomable that any Jew can accept what Israel is doing in Gaza.

This article…

… is, by a long way, the clearest account of the UK government’s complicity in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza that I have ever read.

Please read and share.
In all but name: is Gaza Britain’s undeclared war?
Britain isn’t just watching Gaza burn – it’s helping fuel the fire, with weapons, intelligence, and silence

The story I heard concerned a Japanese businessman who was told we were going to make our universities more businesslike.

His response: why would you do that? Your universities are excellent and your businesses are rubbish.

But we appointed the wrong people and pressed ahead.

Looting at Thames Water

Net assets in 1990, £1,329m;
2024, £1,301m;
2025, £359m negative - liabilities exceed assets

NO shareholder investment since privatisation?

Dividends £10.4bn.

Can't rebuild water services without ending privatisation.

Water Commission didn't spot looting,

I really don't want to go through the whole rigmarole of seeing Farage win power and then fuck everything up and have loads of sympathetic voxpops with dismayed Reform voters expressing their regrets when it was extremely fucking obvious what would happen because his platform is incoherent garbage

Yorkshire Water’s hosepipe ban is a symptom of a broken system

Last week, Yorkshire Water announced a hosepipe ban that will affect over five million people across Yorkshire, with a threat of £1,000 fines.

– it’s time to take back control of our water.
