The thing about the latest news in the Nuzzi/Lizza story is that RFK cost the nation its measles elimination status.
"Heck of a job, Bobby."

"If the outbreaks cannot be extinguished by January, the anniversary of the first cases in Texas, the United States will lose what is known as “elimination status” as determined by the World Health Organization."

President Donald Trump snapped, “Quiet, piggy!” at a female reporter who attempted to ask about the Jeffrey Epstein files during a gaggle aboard Air Force One.

I know people are starting to purchase things for the holidays so I'm bumping this thread. Use it to find independent artists to purchase from! Cut off the billionaires! Support people who make things!
It's the time of year again -- time to do your holiday shopping from independent artists. It's more important than ever to support people actually making stuff!

If you're an artist or craftsperson of any kind, please reply to this with what you make and a link to your store and I'll share it!

NC was hit with an ICE storm, first Charlotte & now Asheville and Raleigh.
Looking at this map, I'm curious as to why ICE may be targeting those areas.

I feel the republication of Fay’s book is just a giant gift to RFK Jr and others seeking to limit Americans’ access to psychiatric medications. Her main thesis is like 90% semantics and 10% arrogance.
Our guest this week, Sarah Fay, says mental illness is very real but mental health diagnoses are not scientifically valid. She says identifying with your diagnosis blocks your path to recovery. This episode might feel liberating or it might upset people. Maybe both.

I would like someone more progressive, but much more than that I would like to win. I think Newsom is our best shot (at least right now).
Politico: No Democrat has had a better two years than Gavin Newsom and because of it, the California governor — a national figure since he was a 36-year-old boy mayor — has claimed a new title: front-runner.

Admit It. Gavin Newsom Is the 2028 Front-runner.
For years, Democrats and pundits have rolled their eyes at Gavin Newsom. But he’s positioned better than anyone else for the future of politics.

Quite interested in how the smoothing of the lines is for statistical accuracy (GAM smooth), not design choices. I find them more readable in general. 📊
Those claiming Dems should retreat on racial justice aren't hard-headed realists, they're pushing against the electoral tide rather than leaning into it. The story of Gen Z isn't about racist backlash or red-pilled young men. It's the most racially progressive generation in American history. 🧵

Many have written and presented around this sentiment before, but I think this is my new favorite metaphor on the topic, as articulated by Barbara Urrutia-Badilla at @infoplusconf.bsky.social ~ We often think of data as a raw ingredient. She says not so. Data is already cooked. 📊

The reason why most women my age couldn't care less if Bill Clinton goes down with the ship is that we were teens & young women when the Anita Hill and Monica Lewinsky scandals happened. It's rotten to the core. All the way down. Your "lost" era is not ours.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

The Founders were so concerned about bribery that the Constitution forbids it three separate times. Two emoluments clauses ban officials—unambiguously including the president—from accepting things of value, plus bribery is the only named impeachable offense besides treason.

Unprecedentedly corrupt.
