I’ve never assembled a list of generationally-specific utterly normal things labeled as weird and decorated it with AI slop.
I have never done (9) (it's anti-social), (13) (Blockbuster never operated in my country), or (20) (those things were *expensive*).

I am teh oldz.

The sole facet of how Coney Barrett wants to and chooses to live her life impacted by feminism is making it possible for her to become a Justice.
JUSTICE AMY CONEY BARRETT:

“Being a conservative woman in a law school, particularly, takes a lot of courage and independence, and in many ways shows more feminism than just falling into some predetermined vision of what a woman should be.”

We just finished a rewatch of Mad Men (holds up exceptionally well) and its neat watching the costume designers work so hard to keep Don’s style contemporary into 1970 while still retaining as much of the signature line of his early 60’s suits that made him iconic.

Saint Paul is electing a mayor too!
*Single cough from a dead-silent audience*
*tumbleweed drifts by*
*Lone janitor looks up, silently shakes head, returns to mopping*
On the ballot today:

-NYC: Mayor
-Minneapolis: Mayor
-VA: Governor, Lt. Governor, AG, and state House
-NJ: Governor
-PA: State Supreme Court
-GA: Public Service Commission
-TX: TX-18 U.S. House
-CA: Prop 50

This is a reminder of how crucial it is to vote up AND down the ballot.

The old man's still an artist with a sandwich.
It's not in this article but the government asserts that the sandwich was thrown at "point blank range", which implies subway sandwiches have defined effective weapon ranges of varying lethality, and I would like to see the government's chart of these ranges.

Finally saw One Battle After Another and it does one of my favorite things in movies where it shows a whole bunch of tableau conceptually well-formed and interesting enough to support their own movies but just exist in the margins of this story.

Don’t get annoyed by the end of the night teenagers out trick-or-treating. They fill a vital niche in the Halloween ecosystem.
They gladly take all the bottom of the bucket Milky Ways you absolutely do not want to eat but surely would anyways.

Handing out four ounces of my homemade switchel to every trick-or-treater who comes to our door.
“I sweeten it with molasses for a more authentic taste!” I yell after them as they run screaming down the street.
