One of the reasons I love live call-in radio shows is for moments like this.

Poor Richard thought he was talking to a call screener.

He was actually talking live on air to Alberta At Noon host @kathleenpetty.bsky.social, who gently and professionally nudged him toward that realization.

grand-pappy revenge game
One reason Gunner Stockton wants to beat Florida? His grandfather Lawrence died of a heart attack in the parking lot after the Dawgs lost to the Gators in 2010.
"He said something about Todd Grantham and collapsed," said Suzanne Frederickson, Lawrence Stockton's widow.

Got 99 problems and pitching is one
A six-run lead with 2out in the 7st is still a comfortable lead.

Mason Fluharty comes in as #Bluejays 3rd pitcher of the inning to try to put a stop to this nonsense, though.

The Allstate commercial where someone gets in trouble at work for barking at his Georgia fan boss, who is offended by this gesture…not based in reality. We are charmed by such things

Yesterday we held a little gathering to remember this historic day, complete with some friendly competitions between a bunch of clowns and firefighters. Plus a keg of Left Field’s finest 😎.

⛈️ I've updated my AltWeatherCAN app. It now includes radar images and a widget for the home screen! I wrote it because I really hate the redesign of Environment Canada's official app. #canada #onstorm #weather

It's open source, free, ad-free, add-on free:

Paramount just paid Trump a bribe for merger approval. When Democrats retake power, I’ll be first in line calling for federal charges. In the meantime, state prosecutors should make the corporate execs who sold out our democracy answer in court, today.

You don’t need money to get attention in this day and age!
Zohran raised a lot less money than you'd expect given his vote share and educated coalition - he barely outraised Lander!

His prioritization of persuasion over fundraising in his public facing communication was extremely unusual and more Democrats should follow his lead!

Toronto should have more speed cameras. The populism around them is crazy. Anthony Perruzza said today that they don't change behavior, which is bs, and the idea that they aren't clear also isn't bs THERE ARE LOTS OF SIGNS!

Civilization started with bio-energy. Modern society was built with fossil energy. Our future society will run on electricity.
People inside (and outside) the energy world waste way too much time debating the merits of individual energy sources & technologies. The most important thing right now, which all our resources should be aligning behind, is ELECTRIFICATION.
The electrification imperative
How a switch from burning fossil fuels to using electricity can unlock the full value of the energy transition

Don’t let anyone tell you that electricity supply (generation) is a barrier to EV transition. That’s simply not true.

Distribution network capacity… now that’s a different story (yet also resolvable). But bulk generation is not a real issue.
Fun with numbers:

Alberta’s 1200MW “temporary cap” on new data centres is the demand equivalent of 3.5 million EVs, or roughly replacing Alberta’s *entire* light duty vehicle fleet.

'Surge' of data centre proposals prompts temporary load cap
