My friend told me that her 14 year old son started doing laundry on Sundays for some of his elderly neighbors. He doesn't charge for the labor. And now he is the most popular person in the building and has non stop pies, cookies, and cake. The 14 year old should be our model of modern masculinity.

The "civil rights era" never ended. You are still in it.

Black people are still asking for exactly the same things that they asked for in the 1960s: police reform, voting rights, and fair access to employment.

And the exact same proportion of white US voters oppose it with both votes and violence.

'Moonlight.' (1928) John Keats wrote in praise of a creative faculty called negative capability; in art it happens when painters know how to stay back, leaving their work open, unsolved, holding unknowns. Emil Carlsen was very good at it.

Jozsef Rippl-Ronai's pastel 'A Park at Night.' (c1892) represents a nocturnal landscape, only the lights suggest the presence of houses and roads - trees looking like a photographic negative, are bright against a black background and add a mystical touch to the picture.
