Politics hasn't been this simple in a long time: do you think it's good for one man to exercise unchecked, arbitrary power or not. Those are the two available ideologies right now

The irony is that between DOGE and Trumps tariffs they’re endangering the anchor of a lot of American prosperity, which is centuries of political stability and rule of law which makes a place people want to put capital. None of these dweebs grasp that.
“America is deeply unprofitable” it’s a country not a B2B startup you fucking dweeb

It's customary when authoritarian shit goes down for some people to celebrate it.

It is also customary when authoritarian shit goes down for people who celebrated prior authoritarian acts to be surprised when they come for them and others celebrate it.

Imagine if the most prominent member of the Biden administration had reposted, in agreement, someone calling a prominent GOP senator a ‘retard’. Would have been the end of the world, biggest scandal ever. The asymmetry in American politics continues to grow. Just wild to see.

We will never know— we will never have the faintest idea— how much money is getting made in insider trading windfalls from people in Trump's and Musk's circles who have an hour of notice about the daily swings in tariff policy or the occasional announced *expectations* of such swings.

"They're cutting people across the government," the judge replied. "If you're saying you don't have enough people, maybe that's part of the problem..."

Great, very detailed story about how Musk’s many conflicts of interest are affecting rank and file employees in multiple agencies, including the FAA, NASA, SEC & FDA — and how those employees fear that calling out Musk’s conflicts will result in retribution.

As Musk polices his own conflicts, some agencies hear sirens going off
The billionaire’s private interests intersect with wide areas of government work — and federal workers worry about his public role.

Leavitt lies repeatedly in this clip, claiming falsely that everyone sent to Guantanamo is a criminal (fully a third had no criminal record at all) and that all of them "invaded" the country (several of those sent to Guantanamo enter the US legally through the CBP One app).
Reporter: Migrants who were in Guantanamo Bay say they were shackled and placed in cages and say they were not treated as human beings. Any response to those conditions?
