Cats and the stars are drawing my eyes from the shadows they get lost in. So many lights are going out. But here I have found the light of the sun. Thank you! Also I work as a cook. Do you have a Geiger counter?

They protesters are not dispersing. They are lighting carts on fire, throwing fireworks and driving cars up to the skirmish line

Newly Unsealed Documents in Abrego Garcia Reveal the Games DoJ Played in Court
Thanks to a motion from media outlets to unseal documents, we can see what was happening on the Abrego Garcia docket in real time as they quietly investigated Abrego Garcia.

The situation in California is being used to spin peaceful demonstrations as threats, all to give an excuse for ramping up federal involvement.

Staying calm, disciplined, and committed to nonviolence is more important than ever.

The LA ICE protests are peaceful. So why 2,000 National Guard troops?

Why is Pete Hegseth calling for Marines?

It feels like they’re testing martial law in plain sight.

Do you see it too?

I understand the urge but... immigrants are not only valuable because of contributions to the economy.

This is damaging coz:

1. Contributes to commodification of immigrants

2. Makes migrants disposable & deportable when labour is no longer needed (esp periods of high unemployment & austerity)
All these Trumpers are in for a hurting real bad once they feel how important immigrants are to the economy.

It's going to be immense pain. And you know what? The country did it to itself—the self-destructive power of white supremacy.

💯
The LA protests will trigger a drumbeat of "law and order" messaging from the White House and their media allies as a prelude to invoking the Insurrection Act.

This is entirely predictable, and any Dem or media outlet that facilitates this narrative will be aiding Trump's authoritarian project.

interesting to note that 400 protesters have monopolized all of LASD’s enforcement power because they tried to help ICE arrest half a dozen guys working at a Home Depot

if you’re scoring on efficiency, the protesters are winning
It wasn't a warzone until cops armed for an invasion of Baghdad showed up
Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department are calling this a warzone. One side is in military gear, with rifles, throwing flash bangs and tear gas.

ICE rolls in, LA rises up.🔥

If Stephen Miller was looking for immigrants to roll over and just take it from his ICE goons, he picked the wrong f*cking town. Between yesterday in LA City and Paramount today, the community is fighting back.

(🚨) BREAKING NEWS: TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ORDERS NATIONAL GUARD TO LOS ANGELES TO STOP PEACEFUL PROTESTS AGAINST ICE

This is the moment many of us feared. Remember, Trump wants violence; he wants the martial law that any violence would quickly result in.

I urge protesters to be smart and cautious.

No one was doing anything illegal today. No one was committing any crime today. No one wanted any violence.

ICE planned, coordinated, and strategically carried out and armed, violent attacks to terrorize and traumatize peaceful neighborhoods of Paramount, CA.

Los Angeles is not a stranger to this sort of thing. I’m proud of them and afraid for them both.
The most striking thing about the LA protests is how many people just dropped everything to show up and yell at federal agents. There are people in suits, and carrying dogs, and wearing flip flops or bike helmets.

These are not people who planned to do this today. But there they are.
