Haunting words from Dr Susie who we spoke to earlier:

"A huge number are leaving. Conditions [in NZ/Oz] are better because their system isn't as crumbling as ours, but if they make a life there - why would they come back?"

Stand with your Resident Doctors. You'll miss them when they're gone.

Striking is our last resort, but with no credible offer on pay or jobs from the Government resident doctors in England have been left with no choice.

We continue our strike action until 6.59am on Wednesday 19 November.

£256m profit in three England regions, £45m in dividends, £33.6m paid in interest mostly to affiliates in tax havens.

Less spent on care. Yet govts handing NHS to PE.

All they're asking for is the right pay for the job. Other Trusts have stepped up, time for Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust to do the right thing.

I came to this country as a child refugee. No English, no certainty, no idea what my life could become. Britain gave me refuge.

Not on a timer, not with conditions attached, but with a chance to grow roots.

Shabana Mahmood is expected to say the era of permanent protection for refugees is over, in major changes to the UK's asylum and immigration system.

Voters want both: homes built and wildlife protected.

MPs should listen to the public, not a false "nature vs growth" narrative.

If nature loses at this stage, it will be because they chose not to protect it.

Tell your MP to back nature: action.rspb.org.uk/page/180990/... 📢
Help stop the Planning and Infrastructure Bill tearing up nature protections
I've just emailed my MP and asked them to vote to protect nature in the Planning and Infrastructure Bill. Will you take action too?

I find the glee here about making thousands of hard working NHS staff redundant - and simultaneously therefore ensuring that clinical staff's workloads are increased even further with administration tasks they didn't sign up for - both tone deaf and distasteful.

18,000 NHS admin staff, managers to be made redundant.

Treasury gives £1bn to cover redundancy cost, rest from the NHS budget.

Which NHS services will be cut or privatised? No assessment of social cost.

The government says the jobs will go in order to slash "unnecessary bureaucracy" and ensure taxpayers' money is being "spent wisely".

The Rule of Law and enriching the rich.

For £60bn private sector investment in public assets, UK govts paying £306bn + billions in servicing traps.

Govt has revived PFI, calls it Public Private Partnership (PPP) and will apply it to the NHS. Billions will be drained from public purse.
Nothing will change until the political system is freed from the clutches of corporations and the super-rich

It’s often hard to get your MP to understand specific GP problems and influence decisions

Take for example Ilford North where GP to patient ratios are some of the worst in the country and aren’t improving

2661 patients/GP up 510 since 2018
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 2257 patients/GP

If only the local MP had any influence
