At around 10:25 pm: South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law in a televised announcement

Within hours, 190 lawmakers voted in parliament to block the move while martial law officials entered the building.

America's not necessarily a conservative place, but we have very conservative institutions.
One of the pathologies you see in a lot of punditry/discourse is some implicit assumption that in a deep sense Democrats *should* win every election and when they don’t it shows how bad they are, or how annoying libs are of whatever. But America’s a pretty conservative place!
