This is interesting. It seems noninvasive laminar imaging is definitely moving forward.

Heij et al. use line-scanning in V1 and find that the laminar fMRI response is different based on the context of the stimulus.

This is such a wonderful tool!
Our paper on NHP neuropixels is finally out in Nat Neuro! These probes have already been transformative and will usher in a new era of primate neuroscience. I am extremely proud to have played a very small role in this project. I can't wait to see what our community discovers. tinyurl.com/54u3hrj8

Laminar MEG is possible across all cortical depths. Our comprehensive simulations outline SNR, head movement, and micro/macro anatomical limitations to source reconstruction precision. Not perfect by any chance, lots of confirmatory work ahead, but it's promising.

This is wonderful news!
Here is the collective effort of 12 labs, lead by my own at the Broad to target the range of cortical interneuron subtypes! These tools should be a game changer for all of you using NHP and other less genetically amenable species! Have at it!

Universities were invented 1000 years ago as an island of liberty in a society that was (literally) medieval. For instance, students were protected against reprisal. The US is going medieval, and it's time for universities to regain their role .
