Autistic mom of 2. Lover of libraries. Sick of this sh*t never changing.
So much pain back in Maine this morning. Hopefully more information is available this morning. People I'm close to haven't heard back from all of their loved ones which is terrifying, and the guy still hasn't been caught. 😩

My heart is breaking with what's happening near my hometown in Maine tonight. There's going to be so, so much pain in the community. Everyone is so tightly connected. Thankfully my family that lives in that town is safe right now. But I'm so incredibly sad and angry.

Just an anecdote, but my 6yo's kindergarten teacher last year had one for her room, not far from his desk. He only got sick 3 times the whole year. First year in school & no daycare before that (so no daycare germ exposure) AND he puts *everything* in his mouth. Only 3 illnesses.
“Placing HEPA air filters into classrooms in the Bradford area of the UK reduced the number of covid-19-related absences among students by more than 20 per cent”

Clean air works. Why are we not doing this more?
Schools cut covid-19 sick days by 20 per cent using HEPA air filters
The eagerly awaited finding comes from the first randomised trial of putting HEPA filter machines into classrooms

Now that it's flannel season (let me have it) I've realized that I both want to be wrapped in flannel and can't stay in my flannel sheets all day. So, any recommendations on flannel shirts that have enough curve to not make me choose between gaping buttons and 4 sizes bigger than actually fits?

Was not prepared for the novavax nausea. 😳 not a side effect I've had before. Glad I got it done though. Even If my kids have an uncanny ability to nudge, bump, and pat the sore spots. 😂

“Is the whole world supposed to stop?”

Yes. The world should absolutely stop as our government funds the annihilation of an entire people. The world should stop when mothers bury the children they carried.

The world should stop.

I absolutely love the fact that, for my 2yo, even when she's having a rough day and feeling crappy, finding out that banana bread is part of lunch puts a smile on her face and pushes the sadness and tears away.

It went amazingly. My 6yo chastised us not to get distracted by the piglets again when we had to walk back by them. lmao. Soooo cute though. Both kids had a ton of fun, lots of treats brought home, lots of smiles and giggles. Many goats were pet.

Oh thank God.
Israel has restored water supplies to Gaza. It has also agreed to the resumption of food and medical supply shipments. This was unquestionably the correct decision.

We're bringing the kids to a fall festival today and their excitement ahead of it is *intense* lol. It's also a bit of self-care for myself. The farm has overtly supported BLM & LGBT+ (clear statements affirming trans-inclusivity) & many other causes, taking pride in the blowback. I need that rn.

I get why everyone is pointing out that Palestine is not Hamas, but that isn't irrelevant to the fact that genocide is always inexcusable.

Yes, it's important to distinguish. But it shouldn't be used as the argument for why what's happening isn't ok. It's always wrong, there's never an ok reason.
