I have always enjoyed seeing brushstrokes and sketch lines. There's something about tracing the energy of the drawing or painting that appeals to me.

Clean can be beautiful,too, but that extra puddle of paint, that layering of color and thought adds a dimension I love.

There was a rather charming trend in the 1910s to introduce the actor at the beginning of the film by showing them first in their street or evening clothes and then dissolving into the costume of their characters.
