Finally decided to buy a Switch 2, I guess a Fire Emblem confirmation is what pushed me over the edge, haha.

Downloaded Mario Kart World and Tears of the Kingdom....playing TotK at a high framerate is really nice

I spent a good chunk of July in the hospital. I wasn’t home when DKB came out, but that didn’t stop my 5 year old son from playing.

Watching him negotiate the gameplay mechanics on his own has been amazing. DKB is a great game, but the real pleasure has been watching my little gamer grow. 🥰

While illness derailed my chance to play Donkey Kong Bananza with my five-year old son, watching him figure it out on his own has been a delight

The rare review from me! Picked up Fall of Avalon completely on a whim. Going in, I'm not sure I gelled with the general vibe. But I had a blast, though the game felt thin and very WIP. A hesitant recommendation now, but I can see it being a really special game in a ~year once its all polished up.
Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon is an ambitious and promising fantasy RPG in a uniquely bleak setting, though it still feels a bit rough around the edges and doesn't quite live up to its promise -- yet. Our review: https://www.rpgsite.net/review/17874-tainted-grail-fall-avalon-review

Momocon pretty much confirmed to me that despite how vitriolic the internet has been lately, the weird ass racist edgelords you encounter online only exist in those spaces and the general “anime” fandom isn’t filled with these freaks. Or they’re not brave enough to express themselves in public.

I think, VERY broadly speaking, books and film are allowed to have messy, unsatisfying endings and games are often not. I loved this game start to finish and I love that it committed to the messy ending its protagonists were absolutely always heading toward.

It's another episode of the Tetracast, RPG Site's weekly podcast!

In this episode, we discuss the Network Test for Elden Ring Nightreign, as well as review the newly-released Avowed. We also chat about all the news out of the State of Play presentation: www.rpgsite.net/podcast/1688...

Here's me on Avowed. I personally enjoyed it a fair bit! But it's also the sort of game where I would probably nod along with someone if they *really* didn't end up feeling it at all. A combination of personal taste and more "slow burn" storytelling. I'll speak to it on the next Tetracast episode.
Avowed is a smart and well-crafted RPG with fun combat, impeccable exploration, and meaningful storytelling, though some uneven execution slightly blemish the overall experience. Our review: www.rpgsite.net/review/16861...

Anyways the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 director spotlighting the low review scores of his generally well-received game is extremely thin-skinned. Christ dude.

Outlier reviews/scores can be interesting! Literally everyone can think of a game *right now* that they like more-than-most or less-than-most. It's normal and fine and cool (assuming no ulterior motives, obviously).

Do we want opinion to be homogenized? Sounds boring to me.

I guess I can keep a 2025 games list here...took me a while to get through this 1st one.

1. Kingdom Come: Deliverance

I appreciated how grounded this game was in terms of stakes, nothing felt like it escalated too big/fast. I have fond memories of trying to figure out the combat at E3 2017 haha.
