Idk, if 'current Deputy Prime Minister knew about accusations against a now convicted child sex offender who was president of his party and delayed referring those accusations to the authorities' isn't apparently newsworthy, then this hit job on a former MP really shouldn't be in the hourly news

Don't let yourself be gaslit into believing that opposing genocide is wrong.
We are right.
They are wrong.

Some may think this reminder is unnecessary, but the gaslighting has been going on for almost 2 years and it is not letting up. They're trying to make us doubt our own moral compass. Don't.

There’s a real contrast between the prurient nastiness of the coverage of Kiri Allen and the sympathy and grace shown to Todd Muller after he rolled his boss, took the job, showed us all his MAGA hat, then simply failed to show up.
It’s nasty and will cause an uptick in hate and harassment.

The Post running an article on Kiri Allan's arrest that occurred two YEARS ago is not out of any "public interest" just hateful clicks. The only ppl interested now are racist misogynists on X. This will only drive online violence. She's not a public figure now & was having a mental health crisis jfc

RNZ using Israeli PR of "humanitarian city" to describe a concentration camp people will "not be allowed to leave" & also don't bother to explain why Rafah is in ruins in the first place

Choosing to publish PR like this is a VERY clear choice - one that should end in the Hague

those in Aotearoa New Zealand, please remember that you might be eligible for a COVID booster. It's not being well advertised, but if you're 30+ or pregnant you are eligible every 6 months.

I know it's heartbreaking and discouraging when ICE succeeds in kidnapping someone despite the neighborhood showing up.

But people showing up, delaying them, making ICE waste half their shift, is still an effective nonviolent organizing tactic especially at scale.

The machine can be slowed down.

The amount of artists and professionals who have been fired and blacklisted for taking a stance against genocide should frighten everybody. Even the chickenshits among you.

It's important to view the New Zealand Government's use of Parliamentary urgency to make it harder for women to pursue pay equity as part of the neoliberal pipeline that leads to 'DEI' initiatives being abandoned and demonised in the United States.

Part of what really disturbs me about the sudden end of pay equity is the democratic implications - National did not say before the election that they would do this. It is now being passed under urgency, the same day as announcement, with no public input. NZers quite simply have not had a say.

The government will save billions through this decision. But we should be clear that this is money that has come directly out of the pockets of low-paid female workers. I didn’t think the National Party would stoop this low to pay for it’s tax cuts. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

It's been 19,191 days since the Equal Pay Act 1972. Yet we are about to pass under urgency in two days a bill that will make its delivery even harder. Why in 2025 is this still a discussion? Unequal pay costs us all money - either through welfare or slower growth.

A mandate is what voters vote for next time

It's more important than ever that this government is voted out in 2026

Because of it is not, their cynical antidemocratic urgency blitzkrieg will be legitimised and will form the standard model for future government conduct, as it did in 1984 & 1987

#nzpol The pay equity decision today – just before Mothers Day – takes employment law back decades. It will likely impact the earnings of hundreds of thousands of women, often working in some of the most poorly paid work. It will cost us all in the long-run. A 🧵 www.beehive.govt.nz/release/chan...

Social worker! Very important job!! Hold lives in your hands, etc ... but we pay these folk not very much after requiring them to do FOUR TO SIX YEARS of study. Oh, and 84% of them are female.
