I feel like I'm getting to the point finally where my patience is wearing thin with the general conflation of "queer identity" with being counterculture, not because I am here to disavow any person, but I have seen one too many convo about the needs of queer people led by people without those needs

I just learned who Hil Malatino is, and having an actual name of an actual published queer theorist to pin the "taking HRT is actually gender normative, stealth is bad, being trans is about standing out/being non-conforming in a crowd!" school of trans discourse on makes me feel like I am on fire.

A trans woman named Jade was shot in her home outside the city I live in.
I did not see her on any list of any trans people for TDOR. When she died the local news media misgendered her, which may be part of the problem.
I really wonder how many trans murders go unnoticed for this reason.
