Authoritarian leaders override medical consensus for politics. The U.S. hasn’t had single MMR shots since 2009. Restarting them means new FDA approvals and big government contracts—or imports. More doses sold and a win for manufacturers while kids face higher disease risk waiting for single doses.

Took a while to make sure we got everything..

...but here is *EVERYTHING* wrong with RFK Jr's multi-decade misinformation campaign against Autism:

Excellent response from Hasan Piker, who was scheduled to debate Charlie Kirk in two weeks. On his stream he said: “The reverberation of people seeking out vengeance in the aftermath of this violent, abhorrent incident is going to be genuinely worrisome.” Also talked about his own vulnerability

I’ve been writing about what I call “slow civil war” for some years now. This won’t tip us into the fast kind but it could bring us much closer. & friends, nobody would win that war. Nobody.

Just finished listening to Sunrise on the Reaping, and I think Suzanne Collins beautifully brought the franchise to a close that I always felt was lacking in the original. Absolutely devastating, which is the point, yet somehow provided a sense of hope for our future I didn’t expect.

OK, gonna throw this spicy bomb out there.

If you're fortunate enough to have disposable income, then right now it is your duty to use that income wisely. You have agency over how you spend it and you should own how you spend it.

Your decisions do, in fact, affect stock prices of big corporations.

I've been thinking a lot about that bumper sticker which says "everything looks like a conspiracy theory when you don't understand how anything works" and folks it's pretty obvious to me that the people in power right now have absolutely no desire to understand how anything works.

i delete my posts a lot and wanted to give you some insight into why i do that:

1. i asked a question and got the answer i needed
2. vibes were off in the replies
3. i came back 10 minutes later and disagreed with myself
4. i reread it and thought i sounded annoying

Elon Musk and his 19-year-olds have now disrupted the approval of medical devices that save lives.

Every member of Congress bears a responsibility to stop this right now.

In my video about this I made the case that knowing there’s a 3% chance an asteroid will hit us is amazing news because at any other point in history we would have no idea at all.

But it also sucks: modern life is too full of things to worry about that, previously, we just wouldn’t know existed.

What drives me crazy about the anti-DEI rhetoric is everyone wants to be judged on merit. But you can't be judged on merit if you can't even get in the door because you don't fit some prejudiced definition of who is capable and who isn't

If you're trying to figure out what to do right now, my advice is to just pick a thing that you think might be useful in some way, however small, and do it. Doing a thing leads you to doing another, bigger thing, and prepares you for that next thing.

I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

Encanto has no business making me cry while I’m making my kid’s dinner. How dare this movie so perfectly cover such a complex topic while also being entertaining enough for my 3 year old to be distracted while I work with a hot stove?

Yeah, that's exactly what this anti DEI purge is all about. Censoring minorities and expelling trans people out of public life.

I know we’re (almost) all on the same page here, but a Bluesky without cute cats, science facts, and dumb jokes would be bad for everyone.

If you want to read a new book coming out but don't want to buy it, a great thing you can do is ask your local library to order it. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to acquire it and then lots of people will get to read it who othewise wouldn't.

This morning I drank a preworkout, had an excellent strength training session, then made breakfast for my kids and followed my usual habit of drinking coffee with breakfast. Definitely don’t recommend having that much caffeine so close together. Pray for me😵‍💫
