The Child Poverty Strategy has been published, which includes the lifting of the two-child benefit cap - set to benefit 2050 children in the constituency. I am immensely proud that the government will drive the biggest reduction of child poverty in a single Parliament.

I love the fact that the Telegraph tried to cover the Rachel Reeves chess 'truth' story, and had to include the fact that even their own chess correspondent thinks it is utter bollocks.
I think if i won the under-14 title for the British Women’s Chess Association (BWCA) Girls Championship, you would probably hear me say quite a bit i was the champion. The Telegraph's own chess correspondent points out here why Reeves's is quite right to do so www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/202...

Overall, the combination of tax rises and giveaways since last year’s Budget is progressive.

Incomes for households in the bottom half of the distribution have increased by 1.0 per cent and incomes for households in the top half fell by 0.7 per cent.

This is how Chris Mason, like a child filled with wonder, described "the choreography and theatre that surrounds a Budget" in Feb 2024, when a male Tory Chancellor was in post.

"Plans, or even just options, can be floated... Reaction to them can be tested. Opponents can be teased or wrongfooted." 👀

This headline will not be repeated by most other newspapers, neither will it lead the TV news. Our agenda-driven, bad faith media is one of the major reasons why we’re in the fix we’re in and why the government is terrified of taking the steps needed to change things. More fool them.

There has been a distinct change in tone, if not direction and a lot of pitch rolling by Labour in recent weeks

I wouldn't be surprised if the Labour manifesto going into the next election, at the least, mentioned the UK returning to the Customs Union and or Single market

2020: Stewart Hosie, "The UK gov actively avoided looking for evidence that Russia interfered in Brexit" - UK's Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament
