solomonskalozub.blogspot.com/2025/11/tran... I'm expecting uh, mixed responses to this one, but whatever. What's media analysis if I don't get under some people's skin?

I feel like Wordle really should have reconsidered today's word, considering what day it is.

They could have at least taken the opportunity to ask the most Cronenberg question of their reporting career and gone “in what ways have actors with flesh failed us?”

It's Trans Day of Remembrance. Today we remember those who were taken from us far too soon because of transphobia in the world.

For many of us, we are misgendered even in death, and disallowed from being who we actually are even when we are no longer here. This is why we remember our dead.

Saw a post of a painting on Facebook with the title and name of the artist. One of the commenters said 'well, according to AI it's not by her'. Reader, it took less than 10 seconds on google to confirm it was. It was so fucking easy to do. AI people really just don't want to think about anything.

A *ton* of autism focused groups are struggling financially this year as the federal government attacks the community. The Somali Parents Autism Network here in Minnesota supports Somali families in providing culturally competent resources on autism for them. They need $25,000 by year end.

Bake off controveries are always like 'the judges are being accused of favouritism'. Meanwhile, Strictly controversies are always like 'one of the dancing instructors screamed at a contestant and slapper her with a dead fish.'

Apparently Clive Barker almost directed The Mummy. We were SO CLOSE to greatness. I'd give anything to see that film.

Love that Etsy's adverts are increadinly depsarate. Our products a Definitely made by Real People! We Swear! It's not all stolen artwork and slop! Here's an advert for a £50 customised bauble, a completely normal amount of money! NO you can't get it cheaper elsewhere!

I've got Jurrasic World on in the background and it reads as a pardoy of bad sci-fi. You've got the villain monologing, the female character who's only allowed to stand around gawping , only saying really obvious things, the fucking hand on the dinosaur thing. They made like 5 of these.

It's also got a lot to say (even if in jest ) about prison reform. If you treat prisoners like people and give them better conditions to live in, maybe their behaviour will change for the better, too.
My annual reminder to watch Paddington 2. Unironically a 10/10 film.

Aunt Lucy says 'If you’re kind and polite, the world will be right', and genuinely, yeah. Sometimes all we need to do is to show kindness to people, even if it doesn't seem like they deserve it.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections
