Let me take this moment to say "GNU Sir Terry Pratchett, mind how you go"

Both because he is the origin of this quote and he deserves to have his name spoken frequently and forever.
"Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?" does have the corollary that you should live your life in a way where people would like to keep speaking your name.

This is a new low for the Trump administration.
We’ve truly lost our way in this country.

An 80-year-old vet who fought for this country just got arrested protesting Trump‘s parade. He deserves respect, not handcuffs.

Every day I will marvel at how hard James Comer tried without success to prove that Biden was tangentially corrupt and how little of a shit he gives that Trump is demonstrably, outrageously corrupt.

Please repeat over and over:

“Bending to the whims of a bully will not end his cruelty. It will only embolden him. The response to authoritarianism isn’t acquiescence. Bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only: a punch in the face.”

I just posted this "fun" fact, but I'll post it again and keep posting it:

The last Republican president to *not* preside over the start of a recession was James Garfield in 1881, mostly because he was too busy dying in office to craft any economic policy.

Pete. We all need more Pete. And the stories that get naturally attached to posts when he is mentioned.
Pete Buttigieg breaks down DEI for everyday folks…

“The opposite of diversity is uniformity. The opposite of equity is inequity. The opposite of inclusion is exclusion.” @petebuttigieg.bsky.social

Our problem: too many value uniformity over inclusion and they’re the ones running the government.

See Erin's second comment in this thread for the timestamped feed of the speech. Aime Wichtendahl is beautifully heartfelt and eloquent in this.
Watching Aime Wichtendahl speak right now on Iowa's removal of transgender people from civil rights law and I am in tears right now.

She's incredible.

I will do anything I can to clip this speech but if anyone else is doing so please send it.

And unfortunately BC means they probably paid a LOT for them, and likely can't afford to sell them and get something new (in a few cases, maybe they could if they went back to gasoline, but that has its own political problems - just not ones that get telegraphed loudly)

Public comment is now open for passport gender marker changes.

You can go here to go to each of the three proposed passport rules, and submit comment.

My suggestion: be unique, argue for trans-inclusive policies, against the constitutionality of the changes, etc.

Thank you, Maine Principal's Association. Please keep doing this.
The Maine Principal’s Association said it will continue to allow transgender female athletes to compete despite an executive order from President Donald Trump that seeks to ban the practice.

This is super cool. The Blazers are the first professional sports team to provide OneCourt's haptic display at every home game!
