Art Style 72: Reversal of Time

I always keep my finger on the trigger, when I walk in solemn landscapes where the past and present linger

New Vanguard Theory Group Zero
Pinned
I just reminded myself of the band I Decline and I'm gonna pin this tweet until I remember to recover the songs I have from them
I'm really not a fan of the twee bullshit that is Undertale but for some reason I am at peace after finally figuring out that the sequel name "Deltarune" is just an anagram. I can't explain why this is so satisfying to learn, I think I thought it was gonna be a way more annoying explanation.

The only cause the elite care about is ensuring that their set is totally immune to consequences. The Dem establishment would prefer the appearance of a more humane society, but only so far as the privilege of the upper tiers is absolute. Everything they've done for *decades* points to this.
Yup. Even if Trump's policies were both effective and popular (lolololol, I know), Trump's pardons *alone* would be ample fodder.

This weekend Trump pardoned *yet another* drug lord and *yet another* infamous scammer!

This isn't low-hanging fruit, it's fruit delivered in a holiday basket!
And this is so obnoxious because actual-politics is kind of a fucking layup right now.

Your opponents are running a historically corrupt government.

Be anti-corruption. Run on fixing the shit they broke, holding assholes accountable, and improving people’s lives.

Duh.

I think "What if one guy argued with another guy about how ______ is marketable or not" is actually the lowest form of comedy.

Well that would mean they'd have to take sides and heaven forfend they have to do that.
The lesson I have learned over the last 10 years more than any other: Hatred and bigotry and greed are the flames of fascism, but its kindling are people who claim to be well-meaning, yet diagnose our problem as "polarization" without giving thought to the causes over which we are polarized.

The White House’s new anti-media website includes denunciations of:

-ABC, which bribed the president
-CBS, which bribed the president and moved away from fact-based journalism trying to appeal to him and his fans
-WaPo, which spiked a Harris endorsement and tilts coverage in Trump’s favor

Fools.

You really have to experience things from outside the US & NATO to understand how farcical it is to most people that the US frames itself as the good ones. The Hulk Hogan type representing America, like... that's a joke at our expense.
Aside from the blazing, ahistorical ignorance of posts like this, the idea that the US were the "good guys" until Trump came along bugs me so much because it frames him as some random aberration rather than a obvious symptom of western imperialism, ravenous capitalism and US exceptionalism.
Before Trump, cite a unilateral action by the United States towards another nation for the acquisition of their resources?

Very glad they aren't but I was just reminded of Ed, Edd, & Eddy and it's a bit strange that I haven't seen anybody try to milk that recently. I mean you can't, it would suck, but it was a beloved IP.

I find Your Party's frequent use of AI very illuminating. Because when they talk about workers, they clearly do not include in that a large number of Arts sector and 'knowledge' workers. I suspect they regard them with contempt. Which is one of the many reasons they are not going to get far.

Breaking my no-talking-about-Your-Party pledge after a single day to say fuck Your Party harder than I previously would have wanted Your Party to be fucked.

I wish people who are in trouble would not like my tweets. I don't want to draw a target, like I get it, but I'm feeling just raw enough in general to say that it always ruins my mood. It's not the contact, it's that it makes me think there was agreement etc. when there isn't. Just reply please.

I'm just so frustrated about the state of left politics in this country and there's nothing I can do about it.
November 29, 2025 at 4:55 PM
It just gets frustrating because everybody is just like organize around the things right around you, but I need to be organized around the big picture. I am simply not animated by "let's help this one community as if this isn't part of a wider problem". I need to be in a group with a vision.

It certainly is suggestive that when communists thought theory was important they won and now that communists largely do not think theory is important they keep losing to social democrats. I wonder why that is. Probably has no bearing on the current moment.
I think "the left" broadly speaking could have gone some way to combating the lack of (and rejection of) literacy, but the left also rejected the idea that you need to read anything so all we can do is lament along with everybody else. We can't start teaching it. We have no advantage.

Keep hoping it happens and then when it happens and Vance steps in and they all keep following orders you can hope it happens for Vance, too. Anything to avoid taking this shit on our own shoulders.
If we're all so afraid to get caught that we can't even get the traditional reading groups together... well, I can see why the most people will let themselves say is "I hope it happens today"

Can we please work together on something. I don't know how hard I need to ask to get smart people to like take an hour a week and work together on something. I hate having ideas and just being like well nobody will join so that's useless.

I love that SHRM just sent out a thing saying "Turn PIPs into real performance wins" that's not the point of a PIP, not really. The purpose of a PIP is to allow the company to fire you. It's not really a mechanism to get somebody to work better, and if it was you wouldn't put people on the edge.

It doesn't really even bear caring about the latest thing the administration is doing. They cancelled all previous executive orders? Okay, I guess. What would I do about it? There's nothing to do. Oh Trump said he did an illegal thing? Alright.

Throughout my 20s, I wore an AIDS awareness red ribbon pretty much everyday.
My friends were dying. It’s what we did.
AIDS is not over.
630,000 people died of it last year.
1 December is #WorldAIDSDay.

It's so interesting for a Jewish person to make this argument. You know, as a person familiar with Jewish history and their resistance to assimilation in many contexts.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

JK Rowling got a full *decade* of press as a martyr for being "cancelled" (declared passe by people online) and meanwhile nobody considers it very interesting that a prominent left wing author is basically banned from entering or publishing in the United Kingdom for her politics
so this is like, one of the biggest free speech infringements by a western democracy in our lifetimes right?
