If you want to read a new book coming out but don't want to buy it, a great thing you can do is ask your local library to order it. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to acquire it and then lots of people will get to read it who othewise wouldn't.

I love Reddit cuz you can follow a Bigfoot subreddit where someone asks “Can Bigfoots get human diseases?” and responses range everywhere from “yes but they’re better off because they don’t get vaccinated” to “actually the plural of Bigfoot is Bigfeet” to “the Bigfoot i saw definitely had the flu.”

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.
They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.
The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.
