Can we predict which animals will be impacted by HPAI in Australia? Using case notifications from elsewhere, and host phylogeny, predictve model developed. Waterfowl, gulls, Gannets, Raptors have highest predicted notifications.

Species distribution models for 40 wild birds camera-trapped at poultry farms, and linked to HPAI outbreak occurence: Herons/egrets, pheasant, moorhens most important. Ducks, gulls less so, but still there.

Questionaire for people in contact with birds, UK: ~50% poultry farmers. Handwashing, foot dips often used. More contact = more PPE used. Percieved risk pretty high.

Pigs productively infected w bovine HPAI, w either subclinical or mild disease, seroconversion. Replication in respiratory tissues = shedding from upper respiratory tract mucosae. Limited transmission to naïve contact cage mates in some cases.
