I promise I will eventually stop posting about speeding but it’s so rare that an opportunity exists to argue a position that is as controversial as it is irrefutable. It’s like walking in to a dog torturer convention and saying you think it’s wrong to torture dogs

So-called “inclusionary zoning” is a tax on new housing that reduces the amount of housing that gets built, worsening the housing shortage and driving up rent. It is bad, counterproductive policy and we should stop doing it.
Building housing is a left issue.
Taxing housing to build housing means less housing.
Less housing means more pressure on your housing market and higher rents.
Build the housing. And don’t let NIMBYs stop or slow us downs

1. Get rid of min. parking requirements
2. Temporarily end MHA to spur building for 3 yrs
3. Get rid of design review temporarily for 3 yrs
4. Don’t allow NIMBYs in wealthy areas to slow down development; sue them every time as a deterrent for future efforts

A single person making $82,000 a year should not need a subsidized apartment. A family making $117,000 should be able to buy a home.

We need to build more homes until median rent is less than 30% of median monthly income and median home prices are less than 4x median annual income.

Shenna Bellows is a strong contender for governor because she bravely did the constitutional and moral thing of enforcing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. That courage is more important now than ever!

We should copy this in Maine. Very straightforward.
A new state has joined the single-stair club: New Hampshire now allows four stories of multifamily, four units per floor, with a single stair. And it’s the cleanest code section there is – same conditions as for three stories. www.centerforbuilding.org/trackers?tra...

“Inclusionary zoning” is one of those policies that sounds great at first but then when you look at the actual impact it ends up just being a massive tax on new apartments that exempts single family homes, accomplishing the exact opposite of the intended effect

So-called “inclusionary zoning” is bad policy and we should stop doing it.
Tying affordable housing funding and mandates specifically to new market-rate development is saying, in effect, we are going to tax the renters in these new buildings in order to pay for housing subsidies for, in many cases, slightly poorer or simply luckier (won a housing lottery) renters.
