Damn, I knew the eastern conference side of the MLS playoffs was bad but this is just the worst possible conference final. Please god let Minnesota or Vancouver save us from a Miami or NYCFU title

Damn…. Between Hassan & Shaheen on the shutdown and now Goodlander & Pappas on this the NH delegation is really not getting it done this month
These 20 House Democrats just joined Republicans in voting to fully repeal DC's police reform laws.

Wiping off the books critical laws on use of force, transparency, and preventing violent cops from getting rehired.

They think that they should have more say over DC police than the people of DC.

Donald Trump has not quite made being a Democrat or opposed to him illegal. But he has done everything short of that. Prosecuting Dems. Classifying groups that oppose him (Antifa) as terrorists. Deporting/blocking entry of people who criticize him. Keeping federal funds from Dem states & cities.

Not quite butt fumble, but close. Just a train wreck of a turnover by Fields and the Jets

Well this is long overdue news. I was confused by this though. When did they soft launch? In 2023 I found free games each week, then in 2024 fewer free games, and at the start of this year none at all. I certainly didn’t see/hear anything about free playoffs. Glad to be able watch Revs again in 2026

Trump: I'm dismantling the Constitution, building a paramilitary fascist army loyal only to me, demolishing the White House, and blowing up the US economy for my billionaire cronies

Schumer: Okay, but you have to extend subsidies for corporate health care

Trump: No

Schumer: Okay

Reminder that Senator Shaheen is retiring, & there'll be a contested primary to succeed her. The candidates so far are Chris Pappas, her handpicked choice as successor who's also a moderate, & then 2 better choices: @jaredfornh.bsky.social (my personal endorsement), & @karishmaforsenate.bsky.social

Chuck Schumer *flushing the leverage down the toilet*: “What?”

The base can handle some kayfabe but not when Republicans are torching the constitution and abducting people off the street.
There will be some "Wow you can't make these people happy" sentiment but what's really happening is the Dems are beginning to reap the consequences of not really believing in anything. Choreographed maneuvers, too clever by half talking points. People have just had it

“We received promises of a vote. But the vote never came. It’s been weeks. We ate Fetterman. He sustained us for a while. The base is angry. They beat drums. Drums in the deep. They are coming.”

Jesus. Just profoundly bad by my delegation here in NH
Four senators in the Democratic Caucus have voted with Trump more than 100 times this year:

Fetterman: 125
Hassan: 105
Shaheen: 104
King: 102

Watched the Mamdani ad and now wondering if Delilah the New England general store cat counts as a Bodega cat? Must they be in a bodega, or does living at a small store count?

I didn’t know this…. I’m guessing it went something like this?
1. Pre-Apple: number of angles varies based on broadcast (local, Fox, ESPN)
2. Apple 2023: cash flowing, hype the new deal, camera angles for everyone, standardized league wide
3. Apple 2024: cut backs
Can’t wait for new/modified TV deal
Remember: MLS broadcasts cut down on camera angles after 2023, a change which also limits the number of views available during a VAR check.

Rare that there’s an optimal angle for most checks since. Has slowed the process a bit given the lack of clarity, too.
Penalty to Nashville! Mukhtar picks out Surridge with a great diagonal, and he gets taken down in the box by Ríos Novo.

Might have been a bit of a sell from Surridge, but not sure you can overturn.

Nine or so hours late I finally got to watch @schalke04.de v @hannover-96.bsky.social. Great win for the königsblau but man I’d be angry as a Hannover fan. 2 goals ruled offside and a reversed pk and the refs were right each time, just a cursed match

My article on the 20 point gaza "peace plan" is now out. Let me tell you why peace processes in the Israeli Palestinian conflict seem to keep failing, with a focus on Tony Blair the menace of the middle east

Gaza peace plan risks borrowing more from Tony Blair’s failures in the Middle East than his success in Northern Ireland
The former British leader was tapped to lead redevelopment efforts in Gaza if a deal is agreed upon.
