Reminded of a lil’ power of 2 arithmetic trick that comes in handy on rare occasions:

2^10 = 1KB
2^20 = 1MB
2^30 = 1GB
2^40 = 1TB

Then if you pair that with the first few powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32) etc. it’s easy to know that 16MB is 2^24 bytes, 32GB is 2^35 bytes and so on.

The House just passed a bill 312-112 to give $900 BILLION to the Pentagon next year.

The same Pentagon that has failed 7 straight audits, so GOP, where’s that “government efficiency”?

Had an idea last week to make a tool that shows what answers a model can give for a given prompt. Used this downtime day to explore the idea and the results are fun. This isn't sampling, it deterministically enumerates the search space. Prompt was: "In what year was Barack Obama born?"

math question!

so I ran into a use case for this peculiar little thing

1. what kind of curve is this?
2. can the formula be simplified?
2. can it be expressed in y = f(x) form?

it's like an angular version of the hyperbola

Ok, so she's 4'11 and under 100 lbs. I was 4'11 once, but today I'm 6'3 and over 300 lbs. What exactly is the height/weight cutoff where it's OK to pull me over?

The nurse, a US citizen, 4’11”, 85 lbs, says she was following orders when she was dragged out of her car by masked immigration agents in Florida.

It was the 3rd time she had been stopped and told to produce ID.
