I just walked out of federal court where I pleaded NOT GUILTY to the charges against me.

I will continue to stand up to authoritarianism and call this out for what it is: a political prosecution.

Others have already spoken to this, but a major element of Midway Blitz is the admin signaling that nothing and nowhere is sacred. Holidays, graveyards, school campuses, churches, homes.

Nothing is off limits to the roving bands of masked, heavily armed strangers who say they're here to save us.

i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times

Do you rich guys want angry bread riot mobs? Because that's how you get angry bread riot mobs.
I "enjoy" this disconnect between tech titans claiming that AI will have us all eating pastries and working two days a week and the reality of firing people en masse while simultaneously supporting fascists who oppose universal basic income and are actively destroying the social safety net

I hate having to peer at images and video and wonder if it's real.
I hate having to peer at an account and decide if it's a real person, and if so, if they're acting in good faith.
I hate that this distrust of my sense of reality is all part of the fascist project.

but if we're going to survive the next few years, much less effectively organize against the regime, we all REALLY need to get better about reading more than just the headlines (or the skeets about the headlines).

Find people.

Start making connections. Get comfortable with closeness. Be familiar. Be shameless. Join groups. Attend events. Write emails. Send messages. Introduce yourself constantly. Ask to be introduced to others. Invite yourself wherever you can. Demand access. Demand a presence. Show up.

Sometimes the problem isn’t that you’re ‘unmotivated’ or ‘undisciplined.’ You’re just fried. Nervous system absolutely cooked. Brain melted. Running on fumes. And no, another morning routine, habit tracker, or biohacking podcast isn’t gonna fix it. You need actual rest. Connection. Safety. Time.

There's no reward in the attention economy for saying 'actually I don't know what is to be done now.' If there were, we'd be better off.

May every single human being on this planet be safe.

May every single person be protected from harm.

May we bring into being a time in which we are all free from those who do evil— together, speedily and in our days.

I wish journalists would stop framing political news as wins or losses for politicians or political parties. It’s an abrogation of our mission. Why do we keep doing this? Is the spending bill a win or loss for the American people? Who does it help? Who does it hurt? Is it sound policy? Fiscally?

Ooof y’all it is rough out there, and I recommend taking a kid in your life to a coffee shop for some levity
Seeing a tiny human not know the “social rules” of eating a bagel go on to wrangle a very small to you and big to them mug of hot chocolate just is nice perspective

100 men vs. 1 gorilla?

How about the working class against the oligarchy?

The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%.

This is the real fight we need to be talking about.

This is an incredible story. Extremely well written deep dive into an entire generation captured by generative AI. Even professors are using AI to grade AI written papers.

Wild.
