I wish people would understand the dual nature of russia’s appeals to this effect: it isn‘t just soviet revanchist but also imperial as well. This appeals to both ends of the current horseshoe while those people and institutions closer to the political center support Ukraine.

I remember the 2000 election was all about courting Cuban support in FL, NYC, and elsewhere. If the dems run more candidates like Spanberger and Sherrill then they could be able to put this demo in play in 2026.
With the rightward shift of Florida and how many Cuban Americans are Republican I find it interesting that Trump (I guess Stephen Miller with Trump’s approval) routinely include Cubans in his anti immigration measures.
The Trump admin has paused all immigration and naturalization processes for people from one of the 19 travel ban countries; including Cuba and Venezuela.
Even people who fully passed the citizenship exam are having their cases put on hold, just inches from the finish line.
