Chief backscratcher to my wife and our adopted son. Vanguard of the mainstream mediocre. Probably edible. MA in creative writing; and so far, I've failed my driving exam 4 times. Full-time Dad.
Pinned
I'd love to know the total amount of micro and nanoplastics I have floating around my body, just so I can put in my Bluesky bio Half Human Half Lego.
Massive shout out to all my Elves working flat-out in logistics and distribution right now.

(Realising while bathing my son we've ran out of his soap.)

Me: Would you like to smell like mum or dad tonight?

Son: (Pauses) I want to smell like me.

Me: (Pouring his bubble bath onto a sponge) That's right son. Be your own smell.

There's this weird boomlet of "Uh oh, Gen Alpha is coming for us!!" content from Gen-Z YouTube creators I vaguely follow, and I am trying to remember if Millennials also did this when Gen-Z started to enter high school/social media, or if this is a relentlessly online Gen-Z thing.

Only a work in progress & a tentative first attempt but I’m enjoying working out the process & possibilities

6 weeks ago I decided to put myself on a diet as my BMI strayed into the overweight bracket and definitely not because my wife said my butter portions on my toast were "heroic".

My wife asked why I'm always polite to Alexa.

I told her, when the apocalypse comes, and the machines take over, I want it to be on record that I was always courteous and used please and thank yous.

Somehow my soon-to-be 3 year old son has learnt to ask Alexa to do - in his words - "a big fart".

I blame my wife for this, and, moreover, I'm gutted I was not the one to teach him to do this.
