Japanese dogs, beer, food, rowing. Trying to figure how to retire. TeamHokkaiROW2🐕🐕 on Hydrow
I could feel my anxiety/stress level increase as this Sunday wore on about having to go back to work tomorrow after two weeks away. Guaranteed to be crazy and I’ll be playing catchup. Sigh.

Fuchi stands in the middle of the busy kitchen, waiting for the sporadic head sketches and quick hugs, as manly as she can get. She’ll reward your efforts with little snorty/purr sounds.

OMG 😭

Huntington's is an inherited disease that's like Alzheimers + Parkinson's all in one. NOW: "once the gene therapy has been delivered into the brain... [it] injects a piece of DNA to reprogram the neuron to become a factory for its own cure."

LIFE SAVING!

If your position is that regime change should be forced on countries where the president does not respect democratic norms and regularly kidnaps opponents using an officially sanctioned paramiliatary, have I got news for you about your position on the United States

Making sour cherry hand pies for a family gathering. If we sold these I’d guess we’d have to charge $12 each to break even with all the labor. Will they be $12 appreciated? Probably not, but they will be delicious.

Had some leftover pie filling so put it on my oatmeal this morning. May never go back.

Nonstop explosions at 8pm make no sense. I hate this stupid “holiday.”

Almost 200 episodes of Chicago Fire and I just realized we don’t have a fire extinguisher. 😱

Another in my periodic observations on the difference between hunting line (Umma) and show line (Fuchi) presenting Ainu Ken: Fuchi’s tongue is smoother and it takes her twice as long to lick an oatmeal bowl (don’t ask) clean than Umma. Umma’s tongue isn’t rough, just exponentially more effective.

It took my brain five days of this two-week vacation to calm down to a point where I could relax. I could really get used to not caring what time it is. So much of my work life is having to do X thing at Y time and it is EXHAUSTING.

"Sodium is nearly 50 times cheaper than lithium and can even be harvested from seawater, making it a much more sustainable option for large-scale energy storage”
Previously, I posted that Na-ion batteries were likely to reach Li-ion battery energy density faster due to the prior advances and experience from Lithium work. Well, that’s appears to be the case. 🧪🔌💡☀️💨💧🔋 www.uh.edu/news-events/...

Umma started a howling session before Fuchi was done eating and if you have never heard a dog howl with a mouth full of food before let me tell you IT IS A TREAT! 😂

Kind of wild how a show’s characters almost become family when you binge multiple seasons. They show up in your dreams and become part of inside jokes with your partner.

I’m always offended when Portlanders are presented as the generic stereotype of us in the media, then I spend time in Portland around others and yeah, people here are really like that. 🙃 Standing in line for food this morning and the way some people talk makes my head hurt.

Today on our walk we passed a Corgi near an intersection. That dog stopped in the middle of the street and stared at Umma and Fuchi like it just saw unicorns. 😂 His human tripped over him. Fuchi and Umma barely gave the poor starry eyed pup a second glance.

The next time the vet refers to Umma as geriatric I’m just going to show them this (she’s 10). Not pictured is her flying around the house, changing directions at full speed, while Fuchi yells at her because she can’t keep up.
