Is anyone surprised that tinkering around the edges of the PRRT didn't work? That we're getting billions less tax from big gas than we thought a year ago?

Remember, 80% of Australia’s gas is exported and no gas export project has ever paid PRRT. Who can say that this is a good deal? #auspol

Ukraine could’ve launched the attack on civilian population centers, like Russia does to them daily.

Instead, they chose a strictly military target - the very bombers being used to kill Ukrainian civilians.

A brilliant operation solely designed to defend their own people.

NSW is in climate crisis again. Much of Taree, Wingham, and Glenthorne are underwater.

The Manning River has surged past its 1929 record, triggering a 1 in 500 year flood — but these supposedly rare events are becoming alarmingly frequent.

Here we go. Minister WTF is where?
The South-East Queensland Forest Agreement is under scrutiny, with critical greater glider habitat north of the Sunshine Coast set to be logged.

Australia can balance timber production with conservation—but only with long-term planning and leadership from governments, and by upholding commitments.

Australians voted for climate action.

More than 50 organisations have signed an open letter to the Prime Minister, united under one message: Climate action means no new coal and gas.

The algal bloom was likely being driven by an ongoing marine heatwave affecting southern Australian waters, with water temperatures 2.5 degrees warmer than usual.

This week's front page features the shocking death of marine life around Kangaroo Island. Sadly more reports yesterday of dead and dying skates and rays.
The algal bloom covers an area the size of KI and won't dissipate until we get strong westerlies.

Weather and climate research funds are being “chainsawed” from NOAA's budget. Last I checked, Louisiana & Florida, which are maximally susceptible to Hurricanes, voted Red in the last General Election.

Wondering if residents there knew in advance this would happen.

In space, Venus flanks Earth on the left, with a hellfire greenhouse effect. Mars on the right, which long ago had running water. Today, it's bone dry. Something bad happened on each planet.

Seems like the wrong time to limit the Nation’s capacity to conduct climate research.
