If you are also worried about tariffs and supply chain shortages, and have the financial means to prepare, here is what I have stocked up on and plan to buy soon, plus what I would get if I had kids, a car or a larger home, based on reporting I've read or done myself in the last several months (🧵):

It’s #WIPWednesday! 🧶
This is what I’ve been knitting between Fight the Oligarchy rally stops.
Oversized Seasons Cardigan by Ozetta.
Splurged big-time on the yarn (🫣) but honestly after holding this thing for weeks I’m happy I did. Woolerton Estates in Fluffy. #KnitSky

A friend recently mentioned to me that they had seen a D&D style alignment matrix for Boston area intersections. I find myself fascinated by this, and it's late and I'm a bit of a wreck, so here we go in no particular order and with no promises of completeness.

Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

Ok let’s see if this works. Take a screenshot of this video, and whichever completely random Japanese word you land on will help you live a deeper, more spiritual life in 2025.
May the ancient philosophy of unmei be with you.

So one of the things that I think is lost on AI proponents is what I call the card catalog effect, a thing I shouldn’t call it because a lot of people probably have no experience with a card catalog.

I've been studying traditional sewing. Today my classmates and I participated in a ritual to thank our sewing needles. It's called hari-kuyo, and we stick our broken or bent needles in tofu to give them a soft send off. It's a way of thanking tools that make our lives easier.
